Final Music Video

This is my latest cut of the music video. I decided to go with a different look and make a light hearted fun video. I think my music video is a lot better than the one I had created before.

I took my inspiration from a variety of different sources. I looked into a lot of videos on Youtube, not just music videos but mainly adverts and characters. It was important for my model to understand the playfulness that went into the video. Here are some of the videos in which I took my inspiration from:

This is the video that inspired my for the section about half way through the video when the model is being playful towards the camera. Before this part of the video the models doesn't look to the camera that much until now where she is directing her playfulness toward the audience lifting the mood of the video and giving the music video a bit more of variety.

This is an advert for the film Factory Girl. I used this as inspiration because I asked my model to take inspiration from Edie Sedgwick. Edie Sedgwick is a very fun loving casual woman who I wanted to interpret into my video. I think the model acted as Edie in a way in which was personal to her rather than a mimic of Edie herself. Throughout the filming of the video I played the track to the model and asked her to dance to the beat in a way that Edie would.

Magazine Advert

This is a draft of my magazine advert.
I took the images that made up my digi-pack and to create familiarity I made the magazine advert look similar. It was important to keep the same theme for the perfect magazine advert for the album.

Magazine Advert

This is an image of a magazine advert, it advertises the new single. I have noticed it says it is available for download and CD then it gives the website as well. This seems to be a common convention in magazine adverts and I will have to include these details in my final magazine advert.

This image is of the 'pretty odd' album cover by Panic! At the disco. I am currently trying to build correlation between the album cover and the magazine advert. Below is the magazine advert, there is similar patterns between the advert and the album cover to build familiarity between the two.

Feedback

Whilst looking at the first few minutes of my music video, it has been discussed that my music video has very little variation. I need to shoot more footage for variation. I also need to link the rest of my video with the CDs at the begining of the video, as I like the begining part with the CDs but right now it seems quite random so I need to add some more CD parts in.
Also, I have been advised to perhaps look at the lyrics of the song and try to create shots that relate to the lyrics. For example there is a lyrics that says "roads look the same" I was thinking for this part of the video I could add in some narrative and perhaps make a road out of CDs and CD cases, then the band could perhaps walk down the CD road towards the camera. This would produce some variation in the shots and interpret the lyrics and the CDs into the video.
